Our screens mean more to us now than ever. They are our connection to the life we’ve built for ourselves. Thule’s goal is to help you get through the rigors of life and laptop protection was an area they had yet to explore. Working closely with the Thule team we embarked on a mission to provide pivotal protection for your Macbook.
Thule, a highly respected Swedish brand, has built a reputation for bringing strong design principles to rugged, outdoor adventuring environments and protective gear. They looked to expand their brand by protecting another valuable aspect of their customer's lives: technology.
Thule wanted to build a relationship with Apple, so we began by building the first MacBook Bumper. We investigated the typical damage points and causes for MacBooks along with various methods of creating protection. We focused and iterated on a mix of durability, deflection, and absorption.

The Thule Vectros was the first MacBook Bumper, providing protection where it matters along the edges of the product while allowing the Apple brand to shine through. The unique form of the bumper also gives greater gripping purchase on the slippery aluminum body of the laptop.
